What are the ship damage types in Sea of Conquest?

Artillery, Cutthroat, Strategic, Blazing and Drowning. The first three are direct-damage identities; Blazing/Drowning are damage-over-time directions.

What is the best Artillery ship?

Iron Lord is the current premium direction; Goddess Satjit is the practical buildable/F2P Artillery hull.

What is the best ship overall?

There is no one answer because the flagship, damage, tank and support ships have different jobs. A balanced complete fleet beats forcing four ships into the same ranking.

Should I build a Legendary ship immediately?

Only after checking its rolled skills and whether it fills a real role. A bad Legendary roll can be a worse investment than a finished Epic.

Do gems matter for ships?

Yes, and update 1.1.790 added Gem Resonance. Match damage gems to the ship and concentrate Legendary Gems around useful resonance thresholds on permanent equipment.
